One of my clients abroad for a house and lot project is a lovely 50-year old Pinay. She is married to an Australian; they have no children and have been living in Australian since she left Philippines in her thirties. She’s a nurse working in one of the biggest hospitals in the city while his husband is now a retired army.

She’s a typical Filipina who works hard abroad and been successful in her career, helping out family’s and relatives here.
One night then in 2011, I got an email inquiry; I got confused that time since she is making inquiry about the house and lot I am selling. Her surname seems foreign and I just found out that she is a Filipina married to a foreigner. She asked me for more details of the project: more pictures as she was amazed of the actual pictures of the amenities and houses, but she’s not looking for more details of computation.
She asked me if I could tour for site viewing her sister here in the Philippines. I met up with her sister got into the site and explained the details. Her sister liked the community and site location. I got a chance to know more details on my client from her sister; about how long she has been abroad and how they are fortunate to have a very kind sister like her.
My client was having her vacation every 6 months with her husband; they are enjoying the beautiful beaches and resorts here. Travelling from South to North’s best places as they feel they are still young. Though they don’t have kids, you could see in them the happiness and love to each other.
Before they made a decision to avail one of our houses, these are the things they considered:
1. Far from the urban pollution/noise and congested development. The location is fitted for this requirement, though the project is along the main road you need to drive an approximate of 4 kilometers going to the site from the national highway.
2. Accessible location and with public transportation, a walking distance from their house to the main gate and main road then a public transportation or a shuttle service is available.
3. Availability of good hospitals and public market is a requirement for most retirees; so far a 15 minute drive to these establishments is okay for them.
4. A residential project with good maintenance, secure community, with greenery and parks, with complete facilities and amenities, and most of all a not congested community.
After the approval of her sister, they reserve a corner lot unit of one of the house model. They paid it in Spot Cash and availed the discount and the process is easier and faster; 2 valid identification and Tax Identification Number (TIN) were the only requirement.
After 6 months the house were turned over and then there’s a good timing that the couple can personally witness the house turn over. The clients were very happy with their decision: the community is safe and peaceful plus they liked the greenery parks within the project. They can now have a morning jogging around the neighborhood and can swim and play at the village pavilion.
Though their stay will be temporary as they have work to do going back to Australia, at least they feel relieved and feel at home with their new house. As they said, “may be after 5 years we’ll stay here for our retirement.”
It was really an amazing feeling to see clients happy and satisfied with their buying decision. It’s not my type to ask for anything in return from clients but the perfume gift they gave me was one the special things I received from a client.
